Fynbos Tea or Fynbos Café?
Welcome to a quiet and cozy café in Grand Baie, Mauritius.
Fynbos Meeting Place is a hidden gem right on the main road, a lovely spot for a delicious breakfast or lunch.
My mom ordered 2 coffees, and she absolutely loved every sip. I went for a chocolate milkshake, which was beautifully covered in chocolate sauce, topped with Whispers chocolate, a chocolate piece, and whipped cream. The texture was smooth and creamy, not too thick, not too sweet. I usually don’t like whipped cream on chocolate milkshakes, but this one just worked.
Both drinks were served on a cute wooden board with the Fynbos Meeting Place logo, a small but thoughtful detail. And you know what they say—the small details are what create excellence.
The service was great and the staff is super friendly, and the food arrived in just 15 minutes, which is impressively fast. My mom and I both ordered the ‘Fynbos on the Go’ meal, and it did not disappoint. The eggs were soft, and the sourdough bread was fresh and not too oily—a simple yet well-prepared breakfast. I was especially impressed with the presentation of both the drinks and the food.The prices are fair, and for what you get, they’re absolutely worth it.
If you're a student or someone who works from home, this café is an excellent spot to bring your laptop and books and get work done in a calm, relaxed environment.
The decor is beautiful, with greens and warm beige tones that complement each other perfectly. The chairs and couches are comfy, and the bathroom is spotless. Another lovely touch- the ladies bathroom even has a small basket of sanitary pads in case someone forgets, such a thoughtful and sweet detail!
